Inclusive Job Postings: Attracting Diverse Talent

Organizations are revamping their recruitment processes with transparency and an
inclusivity lens to attract more diverse talent pools. This workshop will help employers recognize
barriers to equity and will inspire a commitment to remove them. Naz walks participants through
the many reasons why diverse talent is critical to the success of organizations and provides tips
to attract this untapped pool of candidates. This workshop will review important considerations
such as: How diverse is your current team? Does your board or leadership team reflect the
populations your organization serves? Where are your job opportunities listed? How can you be
intentional about who to recruit without it being a tokenistic hire? Is the job posting written in
plain, inclusive language? Are the educational requirements realistic? Is the salary posted?
What is the interview process like? What accommodations can you provide?

Learning Objectives:

  1. Learn about the questions employers must ask themselves before recruiting new employees.
  2. Encourage transparency about the organization’s compensation structure not just salary range so that existing employees can understand total compensation, and the basis for compensation decisions.
  3. Review the posting for gender-neutrality as gendered language sustains gender inequality.
