DEAM Idea Conference 2023: A Celebration of Inclusivity and Diversity

The DEAM Idea Conference, held on October 26, 2023, marked a significant milestone in advocating for workplace inclusion and celebrating the diverse abilities of individuals with disabilities. This year’s conference featured an array of speakers and facilitators who brought a wealth of lived experience, knowledge, and passion to the event.

Attendees had the unique opportunity to hear from Carly Neis, our emcee, a disabled actor and arts advocate, and Nisha Patel, the keynote speaker, a queer disabled spoken word artist. Panels included influential voices such as Brooke Leifso, Alexis Hilliard, and Brad Bartko, who each shared their personal journeys and professional insights into creating more accessible and inclusive work environments.Breakout room discussions were led by notable community leaders like Angela Symon and Lionel Migrino, who facilitated engaging conversations on adapting to change and exploring the intersectionality of race and disability.

The event not only sparked important dialogues but also showcased practical approaches and success stories in fostering an inclusive culture in the workplace. It was an inspiring gathering that left participants with actionable takeaways to implement in their organizations.

We are pleased to announce that due to the overwhelming success of this year’s conference, the DEAM events will continue in the coming years with plans to host quarterly events focusing on workplace inclusion for individuals with disabilities.
